Conference aims
Complex global socio-economic challenges are creating an entirely new business environment in which countries in the region and around the world are striving to create and preserve their competitiveness. Geopolitical changes and new power relations in the world – multipolarity as a new reality, the redefinition of economic and political alliances, and the impact of global conflicts on the economic and social development of countries – are driving many national economies to reassess their current position, determine their role in shaping global relations, and secure a place in the new, multipolar world.
The exploration of sustainable development possibilities in the context of the energy crisis and climate change, as well as food supply issues due to disruptions in global supply chains and international economic cooperation caused by wars and crises turmoil, also present a challenge that theorists from various scientific fields need to address with proposed solutions. In this context, issues such as the transition to green energy, circular economy, and sustainable production models are raised.
The aim of the conference is also to explore the impact of migration flows on the economy and the labor market, with a special focus on the economic and sociological implications of forced and voluntary migration, often caused by war and the search for a better quality of life, as well as the mobility of highly qualified labor. These problems impose the need to study social policies and mechanisms for reducing social inequalities, including the implementation of new models of social protection, a universal basic income, and policies to support vulnerable groups.
The development of digital technologies and their impact on the economy and society – artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things, virtual and augmented reality, BigData, machine learning, blockchain technology, automation and the upcoming Fifth Industrial Revolution are shaping the global economy and creating new opportunities for the development of countries, especially in the context of the digital transformation of the economy. These are significant topics, which we expect to attract numerous researchers who will contribute to outlining the directions of future development.
New generations – Generation Z and Alpha, their work habits, expectations, approach to work and role in creating future economic models, are a special challenge for employers and require numerous research in order to find new strategic and organizational solutions for their inclusion in the future labor market.
The International Scientific Conference Current Socio-Economic Challenges of Development of Countries in Contemporary Conditions – EKOM 2025 is open to all researchers, the academic community, decision-makers and experts involved in the analysis of socio-economic processes, in order to lay the foundations for more comprehensive research related to the topic of this year’s conference and define recommendations, as well as possible solutions for overcoming the problems posed by the current “trend of multipolarization” of the world.
