Review procedure
Manuscripts submitted for evaluation and publication in the journal Economic Outlooks are subject to anonymous review by two reviewers in relevant scientific fields. Reviewers act independently of each other, and their identities are unknown to each other. Reviewers are selected exclusively in accordance with the available knowledge and competencies necessary for the evaluation of the researched topic of the manuscript. Author names are also anonymous to reviewers (double blind review).
Manuscripts are sent for review only after the initial assessment of whether, given the form and thematic area, they are suitable for publication in a journal.
If there is a well-founded and serious doubt about the objectivity or quality of the review, the editor-in-chief hires additional reviewers. Additional reviewers are also engaged in the case when the decisions of the reviewers (accepted / rejected) are contradictory or otherwise irreconcilable.
The final decision on accepting the manuscript for publication is made exclusively by the Editorial Board of the journal Economic Outlooks.
The review process requires approximately 4 – 6 weeks from the date of receipt of the manuscript. The author of the manuscript will be informed about the possibility of publishing the manuscript in our Journal immediately after the completion of the review process.
In the case of co-authored manuscripts, correspondence will be directed to the first author, who is responsible for communicating with the co-authors of the manuscript regarding obtaining the final version of the manuscript (modified according to reviewers’ suggestions) and signing manuscript originality statements.

Ethics and responsibility
Author’s responsibility
It is the responsibility of each author that the papers submitted to the Editorial Board of the Journal are written in compliance with ethical standards and that it is not plagiarism. The authors guarantee that the manuscript represents their original scientific contribution, that it has not been published before and that it is not considered for publication in another journal. In this regard, the submission of the same manuscript in several journals is a violation of ethical standards, which excludes the manuscript from further consideration for publication in the journal Economic Outlooks. At the same time, a paper that has already been published elsewhere cannot, as a rule, be republished in a journal.
The authors bear all responsibility for the entire content of the manuscript. The manuscript must not contain unfounded or illegal claims, nor violate the rights of others.
The authors are obliged to ensure that their author team, listed in the manuscript, includes all and only those persons who have significantly contributed to the content of the manuscript. If other persons have participated in important aspects of the research project and the preparation of the manuscript, their contribution should be stated in a footnote or special note (Acknowledgment).
It is the obligation of the author to state in the note (footnote at the bottom of the first page of the manuscript) the name and code of the scientific research project within which the work was created, as well as the full name of the funding institution.
In case the paper under the same or similar title was presented at a scientific conference in the form of an oral presentation, details should also be stated and included in the note on the first page of the text.
Authors are required to fully and correctly cite sources that have significantly influenced the content and quality of research and manuscripts. Parts of the manuscript, including text, equations, figures, graphs or tables, that are literally taken from other works must be clearly marked with quotation marks with a precise indication of the place of download (page number).
Full references to all citations in the text (citations) must be given in a separate section (Literature) in a uniform manner, in accordance with the chosen citation style used by the journal.
The Literature section lists only those sources that were cited and used in the preparation of the manuscript.
By submitting the manuscript to the Editorial Board of the journal, the authors undertake to respect the editorial policy of the journal Economic Outlooks.
Editorial responsibility
The editorial board of the journal makes the final decision on which manuscripts will be published. Decisions are made solely on the basis of the value of the manuscript. When making the decision to publish, the editorial board is guided by the editorial policy, taking into account the legal regulations related to defamation, copyright infringement and plagiarism. The Editor-in-Chief and members of the editorial board are obliged to take all reasonable measures to ensure that authors / reviewers remain anonymous before, during and after the evaluation process in accordance with the review procedure.
Responsibility of reviewers
Reviewers are required to provide the editor in a timely and qualified manner with written, competent and impartial feedback and opinion on the scientific achievements and scientific value of the manuscript.
Reviewers assess the compliance of the manuscript with the profile of the journal, the relevance and relevance of the research topic and applied methods, originality and scientific relevance of information presented in the manuscript, style of presentation, interpretation and presentation of results and relevance of these references. The review form has a standard format that includes assessments of individual dimensions of the paper, a more detailed descriptive explanation of the reviewer’s opinion and a concluding recommendation.
Reviewers should alert the editor-in-chief to existing reasonable suspicions of the author’s unethical conduct or knowledge of possible violations of ethical standards by the author by providing the necessary information and evidence. Reviewers should identify relevant published papers not cited by the authors and warn the editor of substantial similarities between the peer-reviewed manuscript and any manuscript that has been published or is in the process of being considered for publication elsewhere. Reviewers are also expected to warn the editor to submit the same paper in parallel to another journal, in case they have certain knowledge.
Reviewers are expected to improve the quality of the manuscript with their suggestions. If they assess that the work deserves publication with corrections, they are obliged to specify the manner in which this can be achieved.
Reviewers must not have a conflict of interest regarding the research, authors and / or sources of research funding.
Any selected reviewer who considers that he is not qualified to competently review and evaluate the submitted manuscript or is aware that he is not able to submit his opinion within a correct period of time, should immediately notify the editor so that the manuscript can be submitted to another reviewer.
The review of the submitted manuscripts must be carried out objectively with a clear expression of the views and opinions of the reviewer, which are supported by strong arguments.
